RBC employees get shot at stardom

It looks as if RBC may be losing its staff to Hollywood.

According to an alleged leaked internal email, RBC’s trading floor in New York is to host the filming of a scene for the sequel to the movie Wall Street. The second film, which is thought to be called Money Never Sleeps, has been shooting in New York’s mid-town over the past two months. Oliver Stone is directing the sequel in which Gordon Gekko, played by Michael Douglas, returns to Wall Street to warn everyone about the forthcoming crash (of 2008). Along the way Gekko helps Shia LaBoeuf, playing a Wall Street trader, take revenge on a murderous hedge fund manager, in return for reconciliation with Gekko’s estranged daughter whom LaBoeuf is dating. Charlie Sheen and Susan Sarandon have cameo roles.

The internal email states that at the beginning of November the film will be shooting on a weekend on RBC’s trading floor and that employees are welcome to audition for the role of extras. The casting director is apparently looking for 80 people. A spokesman for RBC offered neither a confirmation nor a denial so we will have to wait and see when the film is released next April.
