Look into my eyes and think ‘rich’

The fallen of Wall Street have a new way to lift their spirits. Apparently, New York bankers’ latest craze is hypnotism.

Wall Street’s redundant workers and crestfallen millionaires are desperate to continue believing that being rich is still possible – so much so that they have attended the Millionaire Mindset meetings, run by hypnotist (and sometime ‘exotic dancer’) Selena Valentine. The sessions apparently consist of feeding individuals with positive thoughts that give a more optimistic attitude to the current financial climate.

One of Valentine’s customers was reported as saying: "I want to convince my clients that they are still millionaires"; another said he wanted to start the new year with a professional edge so he can stay ahead of the game in 2009. Yet another said he was wearing a carefully chosen ‘Donald Trump’ suit at the meeting.

But at $100 a session it seems the only one on track to be a millionaire is Valentine.
