Cairn Capital hires Lehman MD

Peter Hansell has joined Cairn Capital from Lehman Brothers’ global real estate group.

He will focus on the development and expansion of the firm’s real estate business and its forthcoming Ibex Fund, which will specifically invest in commercial mortgage debt.

Before Lehman, Hansell ran Standard & Poor’s commercial mortgage-backed securities rating team in Europe and was a senior relationship manager in commercial real estate lending at the Royal Bank of Scotland.

David Henriques, director at Cairn, says: "[Hansell] joins at an exciting time with the imminent launch of our first commercial real estate fund [Ibex], which will seek to take advantage of the unprecedented opportunities currently being offered."
