Bernd Knobloch: not an easy decision |
"This was not an easy decision for me," Knobloch said. "But now that the integration of Eurohypo into Commerzbank has been completed, I see the opportunity to open a new chapter in my career."
Knobloch is credited with transforming Eurohypo from a conventional mortgage institution into a specialist bank for commercial real estate and public finance. He established Eurohypos capital markets-oriented business and expanded the banks international business. Following his appointment to the board of managing directors at Commerzbank in early 2006, he led the integration of Eurohypo into the Commerzbank Group.
Since joining last year, Pörschke has been responsible for the banks market activities in continental Europe, the UK and Latin America.
Experience
"He is an expert in all aspects of the real estate business. His long-standing international experience that, as well as financing, ranges from developing large-scale commercial properties to successfully running one of Europes major real estate companies, are of huge importance for Eurohypos international operations," says Klaus-Peter Müller, chairman of the Eurohypo supervisory board.
Before joining Eurohypo, and following consulting work at McKinsey & Company, Pörschke gained international project management experience at the project developers ECE Projektmanagement International. He then became chief executive of Commerz Grundbesitz Group, one of the largest real estate asset managers in Europe, also part of the Commerzbank Group.
