Hong Kong's GDP shrinks 1.4% q/q in Q2.





Hong Kong's GDP shrinks 1.4% q/q in Q2. According to official figures, Hong Kong's GDP expanded by 4.2% y/y, but shrank by a seasonally adjusted 1.4% q/q in Q2. In comparison, the GDP grew by 7.1% in Q1. The q/q decline in growth is being attributed to a sharp slowdown in exports and consumption. The official GDP growth forecast for the year stands at between 4% and 5%.
