Piraeus Bank Egypt's net profit increases over 14-fold in H1.





Piraeus Bank Egypt's net profit increases over 14-fold in H1. The net profit of Egypt 's Piraeus Bank increased more than 14-fold to EGP 27.7mn (USD 5.2mn) in H1/2008. Egypt 's Capital Market Authority (CMA) approved an EGP 200mn (USD 37.4mn) increase in the issued capital of the bank to EGP 1bn in June. Greece 's Piraeus Bank owns 95.35% of Piraeus Bank Egypt after buying a controlling interest in the former Egyptian Commercial Bank in 2005.
