Market capitalisation of stock exchange drops by 0.8% m/m in July. The market capitalisation of the local stock exchange declined by 0.8% m/m to HRK 282.5bn (EUR 39.1bn) as of end-July, the financial services regulator (HANFA) reported. This follows a marginal increase of 0.3% recorded in the previous month. The market capitalisation figures translate to 92.7% of the annual GDP forecast, dropping by 0.7pps as compared with the previous month. The bonds and shares contributed to the respective drop of the market capitalisation. However, it was affected more by the decline of stocks’ market capitalisation, which went down by 0.8% m/m to HRK 244.9bn as of end-July. The market capitalisation of bonds reached HRK 37.6bn, down by 0.6% m/m. Meantime, the turnover surged by 24.4% m/m to HRK 2.07bn, backed by the stocks’ turnover, which jumped by 47.3% m/m to HRK 1.44bn. Bonds’ turnover stood at HRK 613.3mn, which is a decline of 10.9% m/m. The traded volume also increased, mainly thanks to the bonds’ volume, which surged by 45.3% m/m to HRK 399.9mn.
