Finance Minister: monetary tightening to tame inflation in three to six months. According to news agency Reuters , Finance Minister P Chidambaram stated last Friday that India's inflation was likely to be brought under control in the next three to six months owing to the tightening of monetary policy by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). In late July, India's wholesale price index increased to 12.01% for the first time since 1995 and analysts are expecting it to rise further.
