Structural tube producer Independence Tube Corp., Chicago, is expanding its manufacturing facility in Marseilles, Ill.
The greenfield, 170,000-square-foot expansion will include a new manufacturing mill capable of producing hollow structural section (HSS) tubing with an outside diameter of 1.66 inch through 5 inches.
With the expansion, Independence's pipe will range from an outside diameter of 1.66-inch through 12 ?-inch and complement its 2-inch through 12-inch square tube sizes.
