Video of Santander chairman Emilio Botín – "You will be a better banker my son"

Emilio Botín, chairman of Santander, Euromoney’s Best Bank in the World 2008, passes on some good advice to fellow bankers.

Santander was named Best Bank in the World 2008 “for delivering hugely impressive growth in difficult global markets; for not just trying, but being successful in, ventures that others said were too difficult; for sticking to a strategy that suits the institution, and not pandering to the whims of the market; and for being what is, very probably, the best run major banking group in the world right now."

“I am delighted with the awards Euromoney has granted Santander. I congratulate Santander’s staff throughout the world. We can all be very proud of what we have achieved. We will continue working to show that we deserved each and every award we have been given...and perhaps a few more.”
