UK ENER-G to invest GBP 2.6mn in green energy generation in country. UK sustainable energy producer ENER-G announced it won three contracts for production of methane at three landfill sites in Hungary . Two of the sites were operated by an Austrian waste management company and the respective contracts had a fifteen-year validity period. The third contract was signed for a ten-year period and concerned a site, operated by the local municipality in the general region of the capital Budapest . Total investments at the three sites were planned at GBP 2.6mn (HUF 760.4mn or EUR 3.3mn). Aggregate capacity of electricity generation at the three sites was estimated at 2.65MW.

It would seem the credit crisis has forced grandstanding on the environment down the agenda
