Algeria's Sonatrach signs agreements to transport LNG to US. Algeria's energy group Sonatrach signed agreements with US Occidental Petroleum, Sempra Energy and Norway 's StatoilHydro to transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the US , the company's CEO, Mohamed Meziane. He added that at least one third of Sonatrach's LNG capacity will be dedicated to the Atlantic basin by 2012. Sonatrach already exports gas via pipeline to Europe and the company said it is keen to open new markets in the US .
