Italian car components maker Fonderia di Torbole plans EUR 45mn investment in Slovakia. Italian automotive industry supplier Fonderia di Torbole signed a memorandum of understanding with the eastern city of Lipany for an investment of EUR 35-45mn, the mayor of the city Eduard Vokal announced. The investment will involve the construction of a production facility for brake discs and other car components, which should create up to 240 jobs in the region. An investment contract was in principle envisaged to be signed by the end of the year, which would mark the official start of the investment project. Commercial operations of the new plant, to be built on a total area of 80,000sqm, are scheduled to start in 2010. The Italian investor counts on receiving state investment support for its project, but it is not an explicit condition for locating it in Slovakia .
