Non-performing loans ratio of Philippines' thrift banks decreases to 6.71% in February. According to figures of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the non-performing loans (NPL) ratio of thrift banks decreased to 6.71% in Feb 2008 from 6.72% in Jan 2008. The comparative figure for Feb 2007 stood at 7.68%. During the month, the total loan portfolio (TLP) declined by 2.6% m/m while NPLs increased by 2.4% m/m. Excluding inter-bank loans, the NPL ratio came in at 8.52% in Feb 2008 compared to 8.24% in Jan 2008 and 9.02% in Feb 2007.
