Constructor Polimex-Mostostal eyes chemical sector’s privatisation. The blue-chip construction company Polimex-Mostostal does not rule out participating in the privatisation of the companies from the so-called great chemical synthesis sector, the firm’s CEO Konrad Jaskola said. He added that the company also wanted to debut in another area by becoming a motorway operator. The Treasury plans to start the privatisation of another two chemical firms: producers of nitrogen fertilisers ZA Tarnow and ZA Kedzierzyn. Their IPOs (including only newly-issued shares) are scheduled for late 2008 or early 2009. In the second phase of their privatisation, the ministry does not rule out seeking strategic investors. Also, SPOs are planned in the case of the already-listed chemical firms ZA Pulawy and ZCh Police (with offers of shares held by the treasury). In 2007, Polimex-Mostostal reported net profit of PLN 104mn (EUR 29mn) on sales of PLN 3.7bn (EUR 1bn). ISB, tom
