Fitch: Non-government debt market rises by 34% y/y in Q1.





Fitch: Non-government debt market rises by 34% y/y in Q1. The value of the non-government debt market was PLN 41.9bn (EUR 12.3bn) at the end of Q1/2008, which represents a 34% y/y annual increase. In comparison to the end of December 2007, it fell by 1.5%, the credit-rating agency Fitch said in a report. In Q1/2008, the value of the commercial paper debt market decreased by 7.7% q/q to almost PLN 12.75bn, and during 12 months, it rose by 9.1%. The commercial paper market stood for 30.28% of the non-government debt market. The value of the corporate bond market with maturities over 365 days increased slightly, by 0.8% q/q and the annual growth was 48.7%. Corporate bond issues constituted 33.35% of the total market value. The value of outstanding bank debt, with maturities over 365 days, increased by 2.7% in comparison to the end of December, 2007. A 76.3% increase was noted in comparison to the end of March 2007. Bank non-government debt issues constituted 26.53% of the total market value. In Q1/2008, the municipal market decreased by 0.1% q/q to over PLN 4.12bn. The annual growth was 7.3%. Municipal bond issues constituted 9.8% of the total market value. ISB
