London Eating: The bankers from HSBC, they say ‘no!’

Bankers at HSBC’s Canary Wharf headquarters have issued a damning verdict on their own staff canteen by adding a review of it to the popular London restaurant guide London Eating, giving it an overall score of just 2.5/10.

"The ambiance has been somewhat spoiled by the view from the window. Where at one time diners got to gaze upon a car park, this has been closed and is now used as dumping ground for building materials"

Although it offers a great selection, and the subsidized average price of just £4 for the café-style cuisine seems to be a fantastic bargain compared with other restaurants in London’s second financial district, the canteen apparently suffers from having no duck à l’orange on the menu, as well as sporting a view of a building site. It seems that HSBC’s staff miss the old view – of a car park. "Great choice of food, but the view from the window has recently diminished in quality due to the closure of the adjacent car park and its subsequent use as a store for building materials," was the ruling of one reviewer.
