Chinese banks planning to acquire majority shares in Bank International Indonesia.

Chinese banks planning to acquire majority shares in Bank International Indonesia. According to news agency Xinhua , the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and China Construction Bank (CCB) are reported to be planning to take over the shares of Singapore 's Temasek Holding in Bank International Indonesia (BII). Bank Indonesia official Halim Alamsyah stated recently that the central bank had received proposals from the two banks. Temasek plans to sell its shares in BII owing to the policy of the central bank forbidding one shareholder from holding majority stakes in more than one bank. Temasek's Fullerton Financial Holdings has majority shares in BII and in Bank Danamon.
