Current consumer sentiment indicator falls 0.2pts m/m to -5.1pts in February. The current consumer sentiment indicator decreased by 0.2pts m/m to -5.1pts in February, according to a survey carried out by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) and the National Bank of Poland (NBP). Compared with the same period in 2007 and 2006, the indicator is higher by 5.7pts and 7.2pts, respectively. The forecast consumer sentiment indicator fell in February by 1.2pps in monthly terms to -7.1pts, but was still higher than in 2007 and 2006 by 5.6pts and 10.5pts, respectively. Surveys of consumer sentiment have been carried out monthly since January 2004 by GUS and the NBP. The indicator range from -100 to +100pts (a positive value signifies a numerical majority of optimistic consumers to pessimistic consumers). January’s survey was carried out on 1,772 households.
