Shared services debate: Crossing the payments divide

Jack Large (JL) is a partner at J&W Associates and is an independent consultant working in cash and treasury management and payment cards. He provides consultancy services and training seminars for financial institutions, payment system companies and multinational corporations.

Kelvin Brace (KB) is European sales sector head, payments and cash management, Europe at HSBC. He heads a team responsible for providing global cash and treasury management solutions to HSBC’s largest corporate clients. Before his present role he worked in the large corporate banking area of HSBC managing client relationships.

Brendan Reilly (BR) is director, country product management head – Northern Europe, GTB, at Deutsche Bank. He is responsible for country product management for cash management in the UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands. His responsibilities include developing and managing products for financial institutions and corporates.

Olivier Brissaud (OB) is general manager, Volkswagen Group Services and chairman of the European Associations of Corporate Treasurers. He is also chairman of the Association of Corporate Treasurers in Belgium and a member of the board of the International Group of Treasury Associations.

Phil Clark (PC) is deputy group treasurer at Vodafone Group Services. He is responsible for the treasury and cash management aspects of the new shared service centre that Vodafone is implementing in 2008.

Johan Leuraers (JLS) is head of financial supply chain at StatoilHydro. He joined Statoil Coordination Centre in Belgium in 1996. As a former banker he has held various positions in the treasury and cash management area. He leads Statoil’s financial supply chain unit as part of Statoil’s global shared service in Norway.

Rajesh Mehta (RM) is the cash management head for Citi Global Transaction Services in Europe Middle East and Africa. He is responsible for the provision of cash management and treasury solutions to multinational corporations, local companies, small and medium-sized enterprises and financial institutions.

Bjorn Carlbom (BC) is vice-president, corporate treasury at Philips. He has been working for Philips’s corporate treasury since 1995, mainly focusing on cash and working capital management. Before joining Philips, he spent more than 20 years with BP Finance in Stockholm, London and Brussels.

Ciaran Brady (CB) is the EMEA regional sales manager and senior vice-president for Bank of America’s global commercial and treasury outsourcing services. He has many years’ experience in assisting large corporate clients in the design and delivery of global cash management solutions.

Neil Gray (NG) is regional manager, corporate solutions at Swift. He is responsible for promoting Swift’s solutions for corporates in the UK and Ireland. Working closely with financial institutions, solution providers and consulting firms, he has been actively involved in bringing corporate treasury and payments operations onto Swift.
