CFOs on the move: Simmons & Simmons, Atari, Equitable Resources and Apollo Gold

Simmons & Simmons, the international law firm, has appointed David McLaughlin as the firm's new finance director. McLaughlin will join the firm on 1 May 2005 from Linklaters, where he is currently the associate director of Group Finance.

 

McLaughlin, 45, has extensive experience in group finance and reporting, merger support and business analysis. His responsibilities have included treasury, procurement and internal audit in addition to compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. He was also a key driver behind the implementation of new finance systems at Linklaters.

Atari, the New York-based interactive entertainment company, has appointed Diane Price Baker as its new CFO. She was previously CFO of The New York Times Company during which time she instituted financial benchmarking and cash management systems across the company's operations.

 

Philip Conti, treasurer of US natural gas company Equitable Resources, has been promoted to CFO. Conti takes over from David Porges who has been promoted to vice chairman and executive vice president of finance and administration.

 

Apollo Gold, the US mining company, has appointed its senior vice president Melvyn Williams as its new CFO. The company has also appointed James O'Neil as vice president of finance.
