Recent strategy pronouncements from members of the Deutsche Bank Vorstand that the bank intends to concentrate on Europe amount to a statement of intent to play to the bank's obvious existing strengths. Its strategy in dealing with corporate and investing institutions across Europe has been to become the dominant provider of Deutschmark services - be that in foreign exchange or bonds - and to attempt to be the first-choice foreign bank counterparty in the customer's home currency.
