Leading European technical analyst Graham Bishop has blasted off from his Salomon Smith Barney launchpad into cyberspace. After 17 years with the US investment bank in London, GrahamBishop.com goes online this month with a website providing analysis of economic and structural developments in the European financial markets.
"I will remain an outside consultant on European financial affairs to Salomon Smith Barney, which will probably be my primary client," he says. "This will keep me in direct touch with the markets. With the advent of the internet I can sit at home or anywhere and get information. It makes research much more possible and facilitates distribution. Anyone who logs onto the website can see what I'm up to."
The Europhile Bishop, formerly an economist with Phillips&Drew and fund manager with SG Warburg, has also acted as adviser to the UK treasury and other bodies on the single currency and the implications of Emu for the UK.
