A pop song appeared out of the blue in Russia at the end of August about a teenage girl who gets fed up with her boyfriend and dumps him. Now she is looking for someone else, someone like Russian president Vladimir Putin, someone - so the song assures us - who is full of strength, doesn't drink, doesn't offend and who won't run away.

The strange thing about the song - which enjoyed extensive exposure on Russia's top radio programmes - was that it didn't seem to have a known band behind it. The group's name, Singing Together, mirrors...
